This beautiful, large, fine bone china mug, from the Quayside Collection, features a shoal of fish design inspired by Cornwall's fishing heritage.  It's perfect for a hot drink at any time of the day.

This lovely fish mug is the perfect gift for sea lovers and fisherfolk! A fabulous large mug with a very fine drinking edge and decorated with a shoal of Cornish fish.

The mug is available in two colours -  White or Cornish Slate Grey, measures 9cm high and 9cm wide and holds roughly 400ml of liquid.

Made from bone china, each mug is dishwasher safe and is hand printed and decorated in the UK.

This design is inspired by Cornish fishing heritage. Once the scene of a busy pilchard industry, fish were stored and preserved in ‘Pilchard Palaces’. The remains of these palaces can be seen on the rocky shorelines in villages near our shop and studio. You can read more about the local villages of The Rame Peninsula and their history here.

How do I clean fine bone china mugs?
• To keep our mugs looking their best, we recommend hand washing them promptly after use. Avoid scouring pads or harsh detergents. If discolouration occurs, soak in warm water before washing.

Can I put bone china mugs in the dishwasher?
• Yes — our mugs can be washed in a dishwasher at 40°C. Use only the gentle, short wash or china and crystal cycle with a gentle detergent.

How do I remove stubborn stains from bone china?
• Soak with a slice of lemon in boiled water
Use a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water
Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with ½ cup white vinegar and ½ cup warm water. Pour into the mug, covering the stained area, and leave to soak for at least 2 hours. Finish with a gentle scrub using a soft cloth.

The Story Behind The Collection

The Quayside Collection is a tribute to Cornwall’s historic fishing heritage. The designs are inspired by the "Pilchard Palaces"—traditional buildings once used to store and preserve the local catch—which can still be seen along the rocky shorelines near Helen’s Cornish studio. Every piece is hand-printed in our studio, designed to bring a touch of Cornish coastal history into your home.
