Taking Care of Fine Bone China and Handprinted Linen
To help you keep your new purchases in tip top condition, here are our care guides for handprinted linen and fine bone china.
Caring for Handprinted Linen
How do I wash handprinted linen?
We recommend washing all linen products at 30°C, either by hand or in the washing machine. Linen is a robust natural fibre that softens beautifully with each wash.
How should I dry linen products?
To keep your linen home accessories at their best, air dry them on a line rather than using a tumble dryer. This helps preserve the fabric and the hand printed design.
Any tips for keeping linen fresh?
Adding a few drops of tea tree essential oil to your wash helps to refresh your laundry and repel bacteria. We especially recommend this for our Bamboo Face Wipes and Bamboo Makeup Pads.
Caring for Fine Bone China Mugs
How do I clean fine bone china mugs?
To keep our mugs looking their best, we recommend hand washing them promptly after use. Avoid scouring pads or harsh detergents. If discolouration occurs, soak in warm water before washing.
Can I put bone china mugs in the dishwasher?
Yes — our mugs can be washed in a dishwasher at 40°C. Use only the gentle, short wash or china and crystal cycle with a gentle detergent.
How do I remove stubborn stains from bone china?
For stubborn stains, try one of these methods:
- Soak with a slice of lemon in boiled water
- Use a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water
- Mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with ½ cup white vinegar and ½ cup warm water. Pour into the mug, covering the stained area, and leave to soak for at least 2 hours. Finish with a gentle scrub using a soft cloth.
