Exploring Bespoke Printing - A Studio Visit from Rame Peninsula Wild Learners

One of the enjoyable things about running a business here on The Rame Peninsula is the opportunity to collaborate with other likeminded businesses, Community Interest Companies and charities. We recently learnt about a wonderful new local venture which we felt we would very much like to support. I asked Sophia, one the the founders of Rame Peninsula Wild Learners to tell you more about this exciting project with you.

Over to you Sophia....

Rame Peninsula Wild Learners

Rame Peninsula Wild Learners is a group of local educators and parents in Kingsand, Cornwall, who came together to create something truly special: an outdoor, nature-based provision for children aged 4 and above – a place where learning is lead by curiosity, creativity and connection to the natural world . Their vision is to give children a seamless journey into a new kind of education – one that values play, exploration, doing, personal development, communication and kindness as the foundation for real learning, preparing us for real life.

In the summer of 2025 Rame Peninsula Wild Learners CIC was founded. Thanks to a successful crowdfunding campaign and incredible support from local volunteers they were able to set up and start running at the beginning of the new school year 2025.

Visit To The Helen Round Studio

So, for their first week ‘back to school’ after Christmas, Rame Peninsula Wild Learners CIC were invited on an exciting field trip; a visit to Maker Heights and the magical studio of Helen Round. The children were full of excitement and curiosity to enter an artists world and discover the studio with all its colourful fabric, buzzing sewing machines, mysterious printing facilities and so much more. As you can see, the children had a fabulous time and learnt so much about screen printing and even had a go themselves.

Hand Printed Bespoke Hoodies For Children

Apart from exploring the studio, our visit had a very special purpose: we wanted the children and the leaders to have their very own Rame Peninsula Wild Learners hoodies. We approached Helen and she very kindly offered to print the hoodles and provide the screen with our very special logo design, free of charge. Even better, she invited us to go and help giving the children a very special experience. Helen and her team had set up a mini print station for the children, enabling them all to be able to reach the screen for printing and clearly see how the process worked.

The children came home so happy, inspired and very proud to have been part of the making of their own Nature School Hoodies. The whole team at Rame Peninsula Wild Learners would like to thank Helen Round and her wonderful team for their generous donation and welcoming the children to an unforgettable experience. As more and more children are joining Wild Learners we are already looking forward to our 2nd batch of printing.
