Collaborations

Collaborations & Partnerships

I think that good business is all about collaboration: “the action of working with someone to produce something."

We love to work with other businesses and are always happy to discuss joint projects.  We find that these projects allow us to learn, to be creative and to get out of our comfort zones!

Here are some examples of our recent partnerships.

Transactional & Collaborative

Our curated range of St Eval Candles and Trevarno Farm Soaps and Shampoo Bars allows us to add depth to our product range and additional interest to our web site. Importantly both businesses are small, growing Cornish businesses that share our ethos of using traditional methods to create beautiful, natural, environmentally friendly products.  Our suppliers are an extension of our business, our choice of them says something about us too!

Bespoke or Custom Products

Collaboration always seems to lead to innovation.  We often create bespoke designs for other businesses to sell on their websites, using our skills and resources. Hewn Bakery in Chicago, USA is one such company.  Hewn has been listed as one of the US top bakeries by Food and Wine Magazine.  We provide them with Hewn Bakery branded merchandise with specially printed linen bread bags, linen shoulder bags and most recently a sandwich wrap. They now sell these new sandwich wraps to their regular customers who receive 25c off the cost of their sandwich if they use the wrap – see their video short here!  Our collaboration allows them to deliver a service which supports sustainable living and reduces packaging waste.

Repurposing of Surplus Stock for Yogamatters

Yogamatters, a supplier of yoga mats and accessories, were looking for a sustainable solution to repurpose surplus 100% linen bolster covers.  We came up with three ideas, lavender bags, heat bags and a reversible bucket bag to help use up their stock and to develop an earth-friendly positive solution.  We loved working with the team who clearly have a genuine passion for delivering innovative solutions for their yoga business.  You can see the whole Zero Waste Collection created at Yogamatters here.

Adding Value Instead of Discounts for Alex Monroe

The team at UK jewellery maker, Alex Monroe were looking for an alternative to offering discounts on Black Friday.  They wanted to offer customers a beautiful travel pouch for holding their jewellery.  After some discussion, we created a beautiful blue velvet purse with a brass zip. The team at Alex Monroe suggested involving Emma Giacalone, a Gloucestershire based textile artist, to embroider a beautiful signature Alex Monroe bumble bee and logo in gold thread on each purse.  Within two weeks, the production schedule was agreed, and the first 100 pouches were finished, quality checked and sent off.  It’s a great example of how creative people, working together can produce beautiful things.  For Alex Monroe click here.

Slow Stitching With Rebekah Johnston

We've created two Slow Stitched Craft Kits with textile artist, Rebekah Johnston, who creates quilted textiles that explore themes of emotional wellbeing.

The craft kits are designed for adults, to stitch by hand and contain all the materials needed to create either a mini quilt or a set of 4 coasters.  Rebekah uses a video to gently share her expertise.  The process is designed to be calm and meditative and is a lovely way to develop an interest in quilting, using fabric cutting room offcuts of linen, to help us minimise waste.  The final pieces can be practical pieces for use at home or art for the wall!
