Mayflower 400 Commemorations
2020 will be a landmark in Plymouth's history - marking the 400th anniversary of the sailing of the Mayflower to the New World - the USA. On 16 September 1620 the Mayflower set sail from Plymouth on a pioneering voyage.
102 passengers and 30 crew made the epic journey. More than 30 million US citizens can trace their roots back to one of the travellers.
Plymouth is marking the 400-year anniversary with a programme of events, including cultural exhibitions, outdoor installations and live shows scattered across the city.

Mount Edgcumbe shop and studio

Our shop is situated just a hop across the water from Plymouth, on the Rame Peninsula. We are just a short ferry ride away from the Mayflower Steps, the last stop for the Mayflower before its epic trip across the Atlantic. We’ll be making the most of being so close to the packed programme of events, the full list can be found here: www.mayflower400uk.org/visit/plymouth-england/[/fusion_text][fusion_text columns="" column_min_width="" column_spacing="" rule_style="default" rule_size="" rule_color="" hide_on_mobile="small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility" class="" id=""]
A selection of the events will take place in the The Box, a huge cultural attraction opening this spring. The new building will house Plymouth's most important heritage collections, including archive TV and film footage, photography and art.
The buzz around Mayflower 400 Commemorations has helped Plymouth to be named the second best holiday destination in the world for 2020 by luxury travel magazine Conde Nast Traveller: www.cntraveller.com/gallery/best-holiday-destinations-2020
